457 Deferred Compensation Plan

The County of San Diego offers a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan to all County and Superior Court Employees. This program allows you to save letter of 100% of your Includible Income (after any 401(a) contributions) or the following pretax amounts:

The County of San Diego offers two plan providers:

  • The Hartford Life Insurance Company
  • T. Rowe Price

Both providers offer many different investments options for you to choose from, ranging from very low risk funds to very aggressive funds.

You many enroll in either plan or both.

The minimum contribution is $10/per paycheck per plan, and you may suspend your contributions or begin contributing again at any time.

This is a great way for you to save up for your retirement! Once you invest in the plan, the money remains in the plan until you terminate or retire.
